When Katie brought home Scooter he fit under her coat. She had gone to Walmart for a few things and saw someone in the parking lot giving away puppies. She and Jason went over just to see. It just happened to be David's birthday and she knew he'd love a pup. When she got to the door she hollered, "David come here and see what I have." David went to the door and she pulled out the puppy from under her coat.

When we fed him he was soooo hungry! He ate and ate and we thought he was going to explode- his stomach got soooo huge. Of course, we got some wormer the next day and kept him outside so he could unload them. :) After the second worming we didn't have to worry so much about him eating. (Thought I'd include this lovely part for those who may not realize that puppies do this sometimes!)

 | Scooter grew and grew. The people told us he was part beagle (must have been an awful small part!) My dad's guess from a couple of months on was that he was red bone coon hound. I think he's pretty right on. While Deux doesn't really let us know if someone is at our house that's not the case with Scooter. He has this deep bark come out (it sort of startles us!). We've also learned that when Scooter barks we had better check it out because there is usually a very good reason for it. Like the time when he was tattling on Deux because Deux was chasing chickens!
