It is so lovely to watch the snow falling down. It creates images of peace as it drifts gently to the ground. All the memories of childhood come rushing back. The excitement of the prospect of playing king of the hill at recess. The first snow angel to be made on an unmarred surface, so pure and clean. The snowball fights and hiding behind the forts throwing madly to see how many other kids you could get before you were thoroughly covered! It was so grand to make the first snowman, tying your scarf around his neck as the finishing touch. It didn't matter how cold you were it was a delight just to create and breathe in the fresh crisp air! You always knew some hot cocoa would await you when you returned into the house all soaked and frozen to the bone!

Sadly, We all grow up and sometimes tend to forget those carefree days of youth. In our rush to make a living we sometimes forget to make a life. That was never a problem as a child. Then we seemed to savor each moment and each new experience. Perhaps that is why Jesus said we must be like one of these little ones in order to enter the kingdom of heaven (Mark 10:15). It was the same thing he told Martha when she was complaining about Mary sitting at his feet enjoying the moment, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:41-42) Let's take each moment and enjoy it for what it is and be thankful always for the grace and strength He gives us to live and breathe. We always seem to survive the struggles, so instead of worrying let's drink deeply of life and give to Him our best and enjoy all that He has given us. Living and loving freely, "freely you have received, freely give." (Mt.10:8)
